Our Y5s spend two days (1 overnight) in York. We stay at Wheatlands Lodge. Our visit is a packed programme, walking the city walls, visiting the York Minster, having a try at archaeology at The Dig and visiting Jorvik Viking museum. The second day is spent at Brigantium Roman Fort where children spend the day in the Roman Army. Sentry duty, spear throwing, marching….yes, it’s a fun life fighting for the glory of Rome.
Our Y6s spend three days (two overnight) in the summer term at Carlton Lodge activity centre near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. It’s a wonderful self-contained place ; with acres of grounds and unlimited fun to be had! In fact, they have such a wonderful experience that they never forget it. Activities include : high ropes, kayaking, orienteering, archery, games, challenge course, bushcraft, and climbing tree .It’s a place where children find out they can do things they never imagined. Ask anyone who’s been.
You can visit the Carlton Lodge website at http://www.carltonlodge.org.uk to see where it is…but also take a look at these photographs to see the fun our children have!
