WELCOME TO LUDWORTH PRIMARY SCHOOL
Ludworth Primary School is an exciting, stimulating and inclusive place to work and learn. The children are central to every decision and opportunity we offer and they play a major role in designing our curriculum. Working in partnership with parents and other outside agencies to ensure the best possible support and outcomes for children is Ludworth’s number one priority. The Ludworth curriculum is a strength of the school and inspires pupils to learn. The wide range of subjects helps pupils acquire knowledge, understanding and skills in all aspects of their education.
We are a happy and active school who place great value on high standards and excellent behaviour. We want our children to be happy and enjoy their learning in an environment that caters for all and respects others. We place a great deal of value on the children enjoying education, so, trips, visitors, exciting lessons and activities will be common place. I know the children will thoroughly enjoy the journey! I hope that as a parent at Ludworth you find the experience a fulfilling one and you feel involved in the process of your child’s education. There is nothing more important than our children.
We work together to ensure children get the best education and leave Ludworth as well rounded successful citizens.
I look forward to working with you in the future!

CHILDREN CHOOSE THEIR LIBRARY BOOKS AFTER THE PTA GENEROUSLY DONATES MONEY FOR THE SCHOOL LIBRARY
Children from Ludworth recently went to Madeleine Lindlay, the book store for schools in Oldham, after the PTA generously gave them £2000 for books to choose!
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!
Maddy, Charlotte, Emily, Molly, Lucy, Billy and Jack took part in the English Schools Swimming Association Northwest Individual Championships Competition in Bolton on 15th Feb, competing against pupils from across the Northwest region from Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and the Isle of Man: the best swimmers from 106 schools. Fierce competition, but we knew that they’d meet the challenge head on. Their determined spirit, matched with Ludworthian espirit de corps meant that they came through in triumph, picking up a massive cluster of medals between them (Maddy alone received too many to count) and put on a fabulous performance, winning the Top Primary School in the region prize. Here the trophy is being presented in a special assembly by the competition secretary.
Anonymous parent has Ludworth sports kits made, and donates it to the school
Many thanks to an a parent of one of our Y6 children, who – as an early thank-you present - has had a full team’s worth of sports kits made and emblazoned with the school logo. Thank-you! Here four of our children show what it looks like….
Ludworth’s reputation and excellent performance pushes up house prices in the local area significantly
Daily Telegraph Magazine shows how the cost of living near an exceptional primary school makes homes much more expensive – the effect of Ludworth is 29th greatest in the country (out of over 17,000 primary schools). We are 15th if independent schools are not included.) See below:
MORE LEADERSHIP LIGHTHOUSES!
I am pleased to announce that the school now has now awarded more than FORTY Leadership Lighthouses to its pupils. Children are presented with Lighthouse Award badges after earning all five different Leadership certificates which make up Ludworth’s Child Leadership programme (‘Continuously Improving’, ‘Taking Group Responsibility’, ‘Showing Care and Respect’ and ‘Making a Contribution’). Each of these certificates takes many months to earn, as there needs to be compelling evidence that the boy or girl concerned really possesses sufficient character to fulfil the requirements in each area. Gaining a full Leadership Lighthouse badge means that they have convincingly demonstrated a magnificent level of trustworthiness across the board.
Well done to all the pupils who have done this since September this year…..Robert, Kathryn, Molly B, Tamsin, Molly M, Heath, Isobel, Alexia, Niamh, Zoe, Pippa, Theo, Sabina, Hannah, Lucas, Ethan, SranneB, Amelia, Kathryn, Jai, Maija, Kyle, Haris, Zahira, Aiden, Millie and Rhea, Jamie, Sam, Rhys, Jocelyn, Lily-Ann, Isobel, Cahrlotte, Sophia, Angus and Connor. They are an example for all others to follow.
