Meet our Support Staff

Mrs Denise Sheldon - Teaching Assistant

I have been a Teaching Assistant at Ludworth for twelve years both on a one to one basis and classroom based.  Previously I was employed by Granada Television for twenty-seven years working in Accounts, World in Action, Sport and Regional Affairs.  I love working with the older children in Year 5 and 6; their sense of humour, stories and commitment to being their very best is so inspiring.  Away from Ludworth I have a partner who still works in TV and two grown-up children, both of whom are ex-Ludworth pupils.  I enjoy sewing, cycling, watching documentaries, films and enthralling dramas, looking after our cat and three chickens and I am a member of a semi-successful quiz team.

Mrs Alex Knibb - Teaching Assistant

I am currently working in key stage 1 on a 1:1 basis. I have been a Teaching Assistant for 20 years working across all the year groups and I have had the pleasure of watching many children progress through the school.

Ms Sarah Sofla - SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant

I am the HLTA for SEND and very much enjoy being part of the SEND Team, I primarily working with the Key Stage 2 children at Ludworth. I joined Ludworth in 2002 having moved to Marple from the Lake District. I have worked in both KS1 and KS2, supporting children with special educational needs, on a one to one basis.

In September 2009 I was lucky enough to be offered a job, working with the SENDCO, Nicola Hankey. This role has enabled me to work with individuals and groups of children across KS2. I thoroughly enjoy this position, the children are a delight to teach and my colleagues are friendly, supportive and good fun! In 2016 I gained my HLTA status, which means that I am able to teach classes in both Key Stages; mostly covering teachers PPA time.

When I'm  not at Ludworth I occupy my time playing tennis at Brabyns Tennis Club (where I am the club secretary) walking, reading and gardening.

Miss Clare Spink - Teaching Assistant

My job is very varied at Ludworth and I love it. I work supporting a child on a one to one basis  during the morning and then in the afternoon I work as the School Learning Mentor, supporting children from all over the school remove barriers to their learning.

Mrs Lynne Taylor - Higher Level Teaching Assistant

I am a HLTA which involves teaching classes all across the years. I am currently based in year 2 in the mornings running intervention groups which is a pleasure and a privilege to do.

I have worked at Ludworth for ten years and love every minute.

I am also a Mid Day Supervisor and work lunchtime with a fabulous team ( I am also very talented at singing 'Happy Birthday').

I love being part of the Ludworth Team and look forward to working here for many more years!

Mr Jonathan Templar - Teaching Assistant

I've been a TA at Ludworth since 2014, working with key stage one children. I started coming into the school as one of Ludworth's dedicated army of parent volunteers, an experience I found so rewarding that I jumped at the opportunity to join the team at the school. It's a pleasure working with such a dedicated and motivated team in supporting Ludworth's wonderful children. No day at school is ever the same! In my spare time I enjoy running, martial arts, reading and, on the very odd occasion, resting.

Mrs Lorraine Wilkinson - Teaching Assistant

Having worked throughout all year groups at Ludworth for many years. I am now a very happy member of the KS2 team . I’m currently working in Indigo class.  However you will probably meet me across the year group doing whatever I can to support our lovely children and teaching staff. At home I’m always singing (often to the annoyance of my teenage children) pottering in the garden or being taken for walks by my lovely big Labrador retriever Alfie!

Mrs Janette Gichero -  Teaching Assistant

I've worked at Ludworth for just over 3 years now.  I am currently working as a TA in year 1.  Although over the years I have worked across the school as a TA and on a 1:1 basis.  I love being part of the Ludworth team. When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my family, keeping my 2 children entertained and going to the gym.

Mrs Leanne Hall - Teaching Assistant

I joined Ludworth in September 2021. I have been in early years for over 15 years, and I am currently working in reception. I have settled in nicely and look forward to my future at Ludworth. In my spare time I love to spend every minute with my husband and two children who are 7 and 3.
