Meet our Support Staff
Ms Denise Sheldon - Teaching Assistant
I have been a Teaching Assistant at Ludworth for twelve years both on a one to one basis and classroom based. Previously I was employed by Granada Television for twenty-seven years working in Accounts, World in Action, Sport and Regional Affairs. I love working with the older children in Year 5 and 6; their sense of humour, stories and commitment to being their very best is so inspiring. Away from Ludworth I have a partner who still works in TV and two grown-up children, both of whom are ex-Ludworth pupils. I enjoy sewing, cycling, watching documentaries, films and enthralling dramas, looking after our cat and three chickens and I am a member of a semi-successful quiz team.
Mrs Ann Dean - Teaching Assistant
I have a wonderful job working as a teaching assistant here at Ludworth, I started working here in September 2016.
I have worked in Reception and have recently joined the Year 3/4 team.
I live locally in Marple with my husband and two children.
Mrs Alex Knibb - Teaching Assistant
I am currently working in key stage 1 on a 1:1 basis. I have been a Teaching Assistant for 20 years working across all the year groups and I have had the pleasure of watching many children progress through the school.
Mrs Emma Moussa - Teaching Assistant
This is my first year at Ludworth. I originally came here on supply, but I loved it so much that I decided to stay! My passion is with early years, but I have experience of working with children across all key stages.
Outside of school I enjoy playing board games and going on adventures with my two children who are 8 and 9.
I am a Higher Level Special Needs Teaching Assistant primarily working with the Key Stage 2 children at Ludworth. I joined Ludworth in 2002 having moved to Marple from the Lake District. I have worked in both KS1 and KS2, supporting children with special educational needs, on a one to one basis.
In September 2009 I was lucky enough to be offered a job, working with the SENDCO, Nicola Hankey. This role has enabled me to work with individuals and groups of children across KS2. I thoroughly enjoy this position, the children are a delight to teach and my colleagues are friendly, supportive and good fun! In 2016 I gained my HLTA status, which means that I am able to teach classes in both Key Stages; mostly covering teachers PPA time.
When I'm not at Ludworth I occupy my time playing tennis at Brabyns Tennis Club (where I am the club secretary) walking, reading and gardening.
My job is very varied at Ludworth and I love it. I work supporting a child on a one to one basis during the morning and then in the afternoon I work as the School Learning Mentor, supporting children from all over the school remove barriers to their learning.
I am a HLTA which involves teaching classes all across the years. I am currently based in year 2 in the mornings running intervention groups which is a pleasure and a privilege to do.
I have worked at Ludworth for ten years and love every minute.
I am also a Mid Day Supervisor and work lunchtime with a fabulous team ( I am also very talented at singing 'Happy Birthday').
I love being part of the Ludworth Team and look forward to working here for many more years!
I've been a TA at Ludworth since 2014, working with key stage one children. I started coming into the school as one of Ludworth's dedicated army of parent volunteers, an experience I found so rewarding that I jumped at the opportunity to join the team at the school. It's a pleasure working with such a dedicated and motivated team in supporting Ludworth's wonderful children. No day at school is ever the same! In my spare time I enjoy running, martial arts, reading and, on the very odd occasion, resting.
Having worked throughout all year groups at Ludworth for many years. I am now a very happy member of the KS2 team . I’m currently a designated 1:1 T/A in year 3/4. However you will probably meet me across the year group doing whatever I can to support our lovely children and teaching staff. At home I’m always singing (often to the annoyance of my teenage children) pottering in the garden or being taken for walks by my lovely big Labrador retriever Alfie!
Mrs Gillian Hammond - Teaching Assistant
I am a teaching assistant in Year 1. I feel very privileged to work with such wonderful and inspiring staff and children. I have worked at Ludworth for 2 Years and continue to be dedicated and enthusiastic. As always I am looking forward to sharing the children's amazing and exciting Year 1 journey at Ludworth Primary School.
Mrs Angelica Nield - Teaching Assistant
I joined the Ludworth team in May 2019, working in Yr 3/4, which I absolutely love.
I have been a Teaching Assistant for the past 12 years working across all the year groups. Previously to that I worked as a Nursery Nurse in a Private Nursery setting for over 10 years.
Mrs Karen Tessier - High Level Teaching Assistant
What a memorable year to make an appearance at Ludworth 'Lockdown 2020'. With a background in Early Years and a Speech and Language specialism, I relished the opportunity to work in the Reception class here at Ludworth. What better way to spend a day than being at the start of their educational journey and using the enthusiasm and energy that only a 4-year-old can exude. Not only do I see smiley faces at the start of the day but also sleepyheads at the end as I manage the Out of School Club 'Stay n Play'. I am an advocate for outdoor learning and promote any opportunity to engage the children in a fun and active way. This enthusiasm for the outdoors is echoed in my home life where you will quite often catch sight of me cycling along the Middlewood Way or hiking through the Goyt Valley. '
Miss Emily Milner - Teaching Assistant
Hi I'm Miss Milner! I’m a teaching assistant in Year 1. My job at Ludworth is rewarding, meaningful and enriching - I am so happy to be a part of such a wonderful team and surrounded by such enthusiastic passionate people - staff and children alike! Working in Year 1 is fantastic. The children never fail to put a smile on my face every morning, no matter how tired I may feel at 8.30! I absolutely love my job, and am so grateful to work somewhere that I can get paid to genuinely have fun every day.

Mrs Jo Murdock - Teaching Assistant
I recently joined the Ludworth team in September 2021 and am lucky enough to be working with our youngest children in Reception. I feel very privileged to be part of such a dedicated and inspiring team, where no two days are ever the same!
In my spare time I love spending time with my partner and 3 children. I also volunteer at our local community theatre where I help support our junior section. I find this hugely rewarding and fantastic fun too.
I have worked in Schools Finance for the last 15 years across both Primary and Secondary Schools in Stockport and Tameside. I’m really lucky as I love my job, as I get to work with amazing staff and children. I also love Maths so can always make the books balance! I have a husband and 2 children, and we all like to go on holidays together to soak up some sunshine and spend some time together.
I joined the school just before Easter 2022 and have enjoyed getting to know the staff, parents and children. I work in the office to help with the smooth running of the school and I am also the first port of call if you have any questions, so please feel free to ask! I have lived in Marple Bridge for nearly 10 years and have a young family. I have worked in schools across Manchester, but have found Ludworth to be a wonderful and exciting place to work so far and look forward to meeting you all!
I am the caretaker at Ludworth Primary and ensure the whole site is kept safe for all children, staff and families.
