We have had a brilliant week and cannot believe how quickly it has gone!
Week 1:
Our first week in Year 2 has absolutely flown by and we’ve had a wonderful time settling back into school and learning new routines.
We have been particularly impressed at how quickly children have adjusted to the changes and how they have shown great adaptability. This week has been centred around establishing relationships and building connections. Excellent interconnected learning has taken place as we used the laptops in our Computing lesson to research our class names and then used the information we found as part of our English lessons!
Children enjoyed our ‘Smile for a While’ and all completed the course either by jogging, hopping, skipping or sidestepping round as many times as possible in 15 mins. Our challenge each week is for each child to beat their previous score (how many laps round they go in the time)!
During Art we have all completed a self-portrait or a sunflower created with oil pastels and we have been inspired by the artist Frida Kahlo. This is part of our whole school art project and our masterpieces will all be displayed together in the entrance.
It has been a very busy week.
